Some of you may know that we have embarked on a little side project over the past few years. It is something rather near and dear to us. We have been working on our very own camper van conversion, taking a builders van and transforming it into a home on wheels. We will be posting our updates as we progress on our Van Conversion. By the time of our wedding, the Van should be complete. Although, we envisage the van to be a never-ending project.
Levi: How would you say our little project started? What was the spark, idea or dream that started us off on this #vanlife journey?
Fiona: I think the first time I had the idea about owning a campervan, was during a trip up to Scotland, we were visiting many beautiful natural locations but we were always having to drive back to the city centre where our Airbnb was located.
In addition to that, it reminded me that my Dad wanted to have a campervan. Had he purchased one, he would have wanted to tour around the UK with it. Now, back when he said that, when I was younger, I thought it was a crazy idea. But actually, it was a wonderful idea.
Levi: If George were around today, what would his reaction be to our project today?
Fiona: I think he would have loved it. He probably would have done it himself!
Levi: Where do you see us taking our campervan? What sort of adventures do you see us taking the kids on in our campervan?
Fiona: We looked at Norway didn’t we?
Levi: Yes, that was for the Northern Lights trip we were considering?
Fiona: Yeah. And maybe Ireland, other parts of Europe; South of France, Salzburg Austria.
Levi: Salzburg.
Fiona: Salzburg: It is really beautiful there, it is where the Sound of Music was filmed.
Levi: Very beautiful!
So so far we have taken the van down to Devon with your sister after we got the seats at the back fitted.
Fiona: We have had beach trips, Weymouth, we have visited Becky & Lee and also Swanage.
Levi: So many memories already.
Fiona: We have so much more to be made!
